When I survey the vast array
Of God’s creative power,

Especially on the Sabbath day
In the opening hour,

I see marigold and violet,
Rose and yellow as they blend

Splashed across an azure sky
And spread from end to end.

Muted orange and pale pink
Pastel colors rush

From cloud to cloud across the sky
As if from the Master’s brush.

But the splendor of a sunset
Is just a passing sight,

Not nearly so complex to make
As the eye that sees the light.

God made all things beautiful,
Though this world is just a start.

His crowning act has always been
To perfect the human heart.

But God cannot cleanse a human heart
That is not His to clean.

You must give your heart to Him
Before He can begin.

So if you like the beauty
Of a glorious red sunset,

Offer up yourself to Him
He will re-create you yet. GCO
