As followers of Jesus, Seventh-day Adventists are counter-cultural. The "C" in our HAYSTACKS series stands for "Counter-cultural."

Inevitably we are producers, maintainers, participants in culture. Yet God sends us as missionaries into the culture. We are not non-cultural or a-cultural, but counter-cultural. We are live demonstrations, a divine invasion, soldiers marching through Satan's culture. We are not a gaggle of "No's" sent running through the earth, but a battalion of "Yes's"--agents demonstrating a different way.

Sometimes people claim others are judgmental, but they're not judgmental. Sometimes people claim others are judgmental, and they are. How can we tell the right and wrong exercise of judgment? How do we correctly identify illegitimate judging by others, or, the legitimate use of judgment?

Our heavenly Father never sleeps. Jesus sees ahead. The Holy Spirit stands beside you with you in this place in your life right now. Nothing sneaks up on God. You experience surprise, I do; God sees it before. Nothing in this week's news surprised Him; nothing tomorrow.

Let us join together in opening the Word of God to Luke 17:11-21. I will read.

Everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven (Matthew 10:32-33).

God is blessing His Church with new members today. The baptism toward the end of this service will be a public witness to heart commitment. The watery grave will open, down into it the person will go, then out of the grave she will come as in resurrection to life. Faith in Christ is expressed in action. Christ will be confessed.
